Creating a Google Analytics Account

Step 1: Sign Up

  1. Go to analytics.google.com
  2. Sign in with Google account
  3. Click Start measuring

Step 2: Create Property

  1. Enter property name (your website)
  2. Select time zone
  3. Select currency
  4. Click Next

Step 3: Business Details

  1. Industry category
  2. Business size
  3. How you intend to use Analytics
  4. Click Create

Step 4: Data Stream

  1. Choose Web
  2. Enter website URL
  3. Enter stream name
  4. Click Create stream

Getting Your Tracking Code

Measurement ID

  1. Go to Admin (gear icon)
  2. Click Data Streams
  3. Select your stream
  4. Copy Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXX)

Full Tracking Code

If needed:

  1. In Data Stream settings
  2. Click View tag instructions
  3. Select Install manually
  4. Copy the code

Adding Analytics to Sitebuilder

Method 1: Measurement ID

  1. Open Sitebuilder
  2. Go to Settings > Analytics or Integrations
  3. Find Google Analytics section
  4. Paste your Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXX)
  5. Save changes

Method 2: Header Code

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Code
  2. Find Header section
  3. Paste tracking code
  4. Save changes

Verifying Installation

Real-Time Reports

  1. Go to Google Analytics
  2. Click Reports > Real-time
  3. Visit your website in new tab
  4. You should see yourself as active user

Debug Mode

Use Google Analytics Debugger extension:

  1. Install browser extension
