Want to manage emails from your Theory7 email account through your existing Gmail account? You can easily do this by adding your Theory7 email account to Gmail, so you can receive and send all your mail in one place. In this guide, we explain step by step how to do this.
Requirements:
Before you can get started setting up your Theory7 email account in Gmail, make sure you have the following:
- A domain name: You need your own domain name linked to your hosting package at Theory7.
- A hosting package at Theory7: Your domain must be linked to a hosting package on which you can manage email features.

A created email account on your hosting package: Make sure you have created an email address, such as
jouwnaam@jouwdomeinnaam.nl
.
Step 1: Gmail settings

Open Gmail in your web browser and log in with your Google account.

Click on the cog icon in the top right corner of the page, then choose ‘View all settings’ from the dropdown menu.

In the settings menu, click the Accounts and import tab , then click Add an email account under ‘View email from other accounts’.
Step 2: Add your Theory7 email

In the pop-up window, enter your full Theory7 email address (e.g.
info@jouwdomeinnaam.nl
) and click Next. This is the e-mail address you created with your hosting package. -
Choose the Import e-mail from my other account (POP3) option and click Next.
Step 3: Inbound settings
Now you need to enter the correct server settings so that Gmail can connect to your Theory7 email account.

Username: Enter your full Theory7 email address (e.g. info@jouwdomeinnaam.
nl
). - Password: Enter the password you have set for this email account.

POP server: Enter
mail.theory7.net
as the POP server. - Port: Select port 995 for a secure connection.
- Leave copy of messages on server: Check this option to ensure that your e-mails can still be read on other mail clients. If you don't do this, your emails will be deleted from the server and kept only with Gmail.
- Enable SSL: Check the option for Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving email.
- You have the option to label all messages
- After you have filled everything in, click Add account.
Step 4: Outgoing settings
After setting up receiving emails, you can also choose to send from Gmail.
- Choose Yes and click Next.
- Enter the name you want to show with your sent messages.

Configure SMTP server: After adding your account, you will be given the option to also send emails from your Theory7 email address. Enter the SMTP server details here:

SMTP-server:
mail.theory7.net
- Poort: 465
- Username: Enter your full Theory7 email address (e.g. info@jouwdomeinnaam. nl).
- Password: Use the password you set for your email account.

Secure connection via SSL: Check this option.

Confirm your email address: Gmail will now send a verification code to your Theory7 email account. Open your Gmail inbox to receive the code, enter it and click Verify.
Congratulations! You have now successfully linked your Theory7 email account to Gmail. You can now receive and send emails from Gmail using your Theory7 email address. When you send an email, you can choose to send it from your Theory7 address by selecting the desired sender address in the setup window.
Additional information
Gmail uses the POP3 protocol to retrieve e-mail from our servers. The frequency at which Gmail does this is not always the same. As a result, an incoming mail may not show up immediately in your Gmail inbox.
