Getting started with Bitwarden
- Go to bitwarden.com and create an account
- Choose a strong master password (min. 12 characters)
- Install the browser extension
- Install the mobile app
Adding passwords
- Log in to a website as usual
- Bitwarden asks if you want to save the password
- Click "Save"
- Next time, Bitwarden fills it in automatically
Generating strong passwords
- Click the Bitwarden icon
- Click "Generate password"
- Choose length (min. 16 characters recommended)
- Include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
- Copy and use the password
Tips for your master password
- Use a passphrase: "MyDogLoves2EatPizza!"
- Don't use personal information
- Don't reuse it anywhere else
- Write it down and store it safely (physically)
